Kanab House
View of the cliffs through the large living room windows

About the House

This is no ordinary vacation rental. Built with comfort, sustainability, and design in mind, this custom house is filled with natural light and features stunning views in every direction. With thick walls, triple-glazed windows, and tightly sealed doors, it’s comfortable through hot summer days and cold winter nights. Curl up in the window seats and enjoy the views.

Location, location, location

Kanab: Several national parks are within easy reach from the small town of Kanab: the east gate of spectacular Zion National Park is only 35 minutes away, scenic Bryce Canyon is 70 minutes away, and the majestic Grand Canyon North Rim is 90 minutes away (accessible end of May to late October). Make your base camp in Kanab and explore Lake Powell, Antelope Canyon, Buckskin Gulch, as well as tons of nearby hiking trails.

La Estancia: Our house is located in the quiet neighborhood of La Estancia, and as our guests, you’ll have access to the pool, hot tub, pickleball court, pool table, bocce lane, and playground, all within easy walking distance. Also, you can just walk out the door and hike in beautiful Tom’s Canyon.

Red cliff views: The views in all directions are stunning, and the house is designed to maximize those views. The cliffs are right in our backyard, and (for now), there are no neighbors close to our house.

Features

The house features two king suites, each with their own en-suite bathroom, plus one bedroom with bunk beds and a sweet office setup, and an additional bathroom. With the sofa bed in the living room, there is space for 8 guests.

Outside, enjoy the patio, BBQ, rock art area, and fire pit, plus all the amenities of La Estancia. For more information, check out the floor plan, and download the house manual with all the clues.

Who are we?

We (your hosts Sara and Anders) live in Salt Lake City and try to spend as much time in Kanab as we can, hiking and exploring the outdoors. We’re glad you can enjoy the house while we’re not there.

Sara is from Utah; Anders was born in Norway and grew up in Switzerland. We both love to travel, and have a lot of experience staying in places that were decidedly less than optimal. We designed this house with visitors in mind, and love the way it has turned out. We think you will love staying here too.

Why rent a house with hardly any reviews?

The house is new, and we’re new to renting out our vacation home — so why should you risk staying here? Good question. We’ve had friends and family test out the place, and they are blown away, and tell us that they love being there. Hopefully, all the photos on Airbnb show that a lot of thought went into building this home. And if anything is amiss, we’ll make it right.

And right now, it’s a bargain. We may adjust prices once we have more bookings and reviews.
